- Eugenio Chacarra won the DS Automobiles 83° Open d'Italia by five shots at Circolo Golf Torino, closing with a bogey-free 64 — featuring five birdies in his first 10 holes and a 35-foot eagle at the par-five 15th — to finish at 24 under.
- The victory, Chacarra's second consecutive DP World Tour title, lifts him to third in the Race to Dubai standings behind Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy; the top 10 non-exempt players at season's end earn PGA Tour cards.
- Chacarra also earned a debut invite to The Open at Royal Birkdale (July 16-19) via the Open Qualifying Series, telling reporters he has dreamed of playing the championship since childhood.
- Matt Wallace finished runner-up after a final-round 67 ended with back-to-back bogeys; Joaquin Niemann took third, Joakim Lagergren fired a 63 for fourth, and Angel Ayora completed the top five.
Why it matters: A former LIV Golf member has vaulted to third in the Race to Dubai behind Reed and McIlroy, placing him in striking distance of an automatic PGA Tour card while also securing a maiden Open start at Royal Birkdale in July — a tangible win for any player leaving the breakaway league.
