- BBC will broadcast four World Cup last-16 matches live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the remaining four shown on ITV and all eight covered across BBC Sport platforms.
- England face tournament co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium on Monday 6 July (01:00 BST) after edging DR Congo 2-1 in the last 32.
- France meet Paraguay on Saturday at 22:00 on BBC, after Paraguay knocked out Germany on penalties in the previous round.
- Spain, the European champions, will face Iberian rivals Portugal or Croatia in Dallas on Monday 6 July (20:00), also live on BBC.
- USA, tournament co-hosts, take on Mauricio Pochettino's Belgium on Tuesday 7 July (01:00 BST).
- BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds carry live commentary from every match, with spoiler-free highlights on iPlayer, the BBC Sport app and BBC Football YouTube each morning.
- BBC Sport has launched an interactive 3D experience on its website and app for live BBC TV matches and in replay mode for ITV games.
Why it matters: UK viewers get a clear free-to-air split: four marquee ties — including midnight-BST England-Mexico at the Azteca and a Dallas date for Spain — go to BBC One/iPlayer, with the other four on ITV, so no subscription is needed to watch every last-16 game. The unusual venues (Azteca, Dallas) raise the production stakes for BBC Sport's new interactive 3D layer.
