- Boerse Stuttgart Digital and Tradias completed their merger, first announced in February, after clearing the required ownership control procedure and combining custody with trading operations.
- The merged entity will operate under the Boerse Stuttgart Digital name while Tradias remains the trading brand, with headquarters in Frankfurt and Stuttgart and offices across Athens, Beirut, Berlin, Dubai, Madrid, Milan and Ljubljana.
- Christopher Beck, Tradias founder, and Ulli Spankowski, Boerse Stuttgart Digital managing director, will serve as co-CEOs of the combined unit, which employs roughly 300 people.
- The combined platform will offer trading, custody, staking and tokenization services, with Tradias contributing trading and market-making for more than 150 cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
- Institutional clients on the combined client roster include DZ Bank, DekaBank, Intesa Sanpaolo and Société Générale-FORGE on the custody side, and flatexDEGIRO, dwpbank and European government institutions on the trading side.
- Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed in Wednesday's announcement.
Why it matters: The tie-up consolidates regulated crypto custody and trading for institutional clients across Europe under one roof, with co-CEOs running roughly 300 staff spanning nine cities and serving major banks like DZ Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo and Société Générale-FORGE — a notable scale-up for a European regulated crypto infrastructure provider at a time when banks are expanding digital asset offerings.
