- Lexus introduced the 2026 ES EV, the first Lexus model to use Toyota’s Arene software platform, unlocking EV route planning and charge management.
- Arene platform, developed by Woven by Toyota, powers the new Lexus Interface, delivering a smartphone‑like UI, continuous software updates, and native navigation on the full multi‑information display.
- EV Routing in the Lexus Interface provides turn‑by‑turn directions to charging stations, showing name, address, hours, charger type, availability and max output, mirroring Tesla’s Trip Planner.
- Drive Connect subscription is required to activate EV Routing and EV Range Map features on the Lexus ES.
- Lexus ES starts at $49,490 for the 350e with a 307‑mile EPA range, and $51,795 for the 500e AWD, both equipped with a built‑in NACS port for Tesla Superchargers.
Why it matters: Lexus EV owners now get integrated charging navigation, making long trips easier and boosting the appeal of luxury EVs, while Tesla faces fresh competition in the premium segment.
