- England beat India by 125 runs in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, posting 201-7 and bowling India out for 76 in 11.4 overs to lead the five-match series 2-0 with two games left.
- Jofra Archer took 3-29 and Josh Tongue 4-28 on his home ground, both bowling above 90mph with sustained short-pitched hostility that dismantled India's vaunted top order.
- India were reduced to 52-5 inside five overs — the first time they have lost five wickets in the powerplay of a men's T20 international — with their 70-ball all-out innings their shortest in the format.
- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 15-year-old batting sensation in only his second international, was bounced out by Archer for 13 after launching two sixes off the first two balls he faced.
- Phil Salt anchored England's 201-7 with 70 off 44 balls, while Sam Curran added an unbeaten 41 off 24 to give the hosts a total their bowlers then defended emphatically.
- England cannot lose the series and will clinch it outright with victory in the fourth T20I in Bristol on Thursday, leaving India needing answers against the short ball before then.
Why it matters: India's 125-run defeat is their worst-ever margin in T20 internationals, and the manner of the collapse — five powerplay wickets, all-out in 70 balls, dominated by 90mph short-pitched bowling — exposes a structural vulnerability in their world-champion batting order that opponents will target. For England, the series is already in hand with two matches to play.
