- Clay Travis is departing OutKick, the sports and culture site he founded in 2011, as the outlet is absorbed into Fox News Digital
- OutKick is becoming a vertical within Fox News Digital, ending its run as a separate brand five years after Fox Corp acquired OutKick Media in 2021
- Travis signed a new deal with Fox News Media to serve as a contributor, and will continue hosting "OutKick the Show with Clay Travis" on FS1 on Wednesday evenings
- Travis said in a statement that OutKick's original goal was to become "an influential digital platform in the industry," calling that goal accomplished over 15 years
- Fox also signed host Dan Dakich to a new deal, making him exclusive to Fox after he leaves Indy's Sports Ticket 1430 AM; he hosts the show "Don't @ Me"
Why it matters: Travis founded OutKick in 2011 and built it into a standalone media brand; Fox's 2021 acquisition kept it independent, but folding it into Fox News Digital ends that separate identity. Travis keeps his FS1 platform and adds a Fox News contributor role, so he gains reach even as the brand he created becomes a sub-section of a larger property.
