- Fiat launched the 2026 Topolino in the US at $13,995 (plus a $990 destination fee), available in limited quantities through select dealers in standard and Dolcevita (roll-up soft-top) trims
- The Topolino measures 8'3" long and runs on a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery with an 8 hp motor, delivering up to 46 miles per charge and recharging in about four hours on a 240V outlet
- The mini EV currently tops out at 19 mph; Fiat will offer a free LSV conversion kit by late summer or fall 2026 that raises the limit to 25 mph and adds a rearview mirror, backup camera, and pedestrian alert
- Fiat brand CEO Olivier Francois called the Topolino "a new chapter for the brand in the US," with parent company Stellantis confirming the US launch in December
- The Topolino has already been on sale in Europe starting at 9,890 euros (~$11,500)
- Fiat's US sales collapsed to just 1,321 vehicles last year, down from nearly 44,000 in 2012, the brand's first full year of US sales
Why it matters: The Topolino is Fiat's bet to revive a US operation that sold just 1,321 vehicles last year versus nearly 44,000 in 2012, but its 19 mph (25 mph post-conversion) speed cap restricts it to roads posted at 35 mph or less — making it a neighborhood and resort vehicle rather than a true commuter.
