- Married at First Sight Season 20 debuts July 12 on Peacock, the first full season produced for the streaming service after Seasons 5-18 aired on Lifetime
- Kinetic Content founder Chris Coelen said Season 19 was originally shot for Lifetime and only edited for Peacock, so Season 20 is the first built "with a Peacock lens"
- Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz replace the outgoing trio of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec, shrinking the expert panel from 3-4 down to 2
- Coelen said the smaller panel "felt a little less crowded and more focused" and allowed experts to "develop a relationship with the participants in a different way"
- Season 20 is set in Seattle, with Coelen describing the cast as older and "serious about marriage as a next step in their lives"
- Nick Uhlenhuth, previously seen on Netflix's "The Circle" and "Perfect Match," is paired with Courteney Landis — a casting choice Coelen said he was initially hesitant about making
Why it matters: The full production move to Peacock signals that even long-running cable reality franchises now find more creative freedom on streamers, free from network time constraints. Cutting the expert panel from 3-4 to 2 reshapes the show's traditional group-dynamic format, and casting a contestant from rival Netflix shows marks a new cross-platform talent pipeline for the genre.
