- The Odyssey topped South Korea's box office for a second consecutive weekend (Aug. 14–16) with $13.2 million from 1,691,744 admissions across 2,114 screens, capturing 59.07% of the total weekend market.
- The Odyssey's sophomore session grew by nearly 28%, lifting its cumulative South Korean gross to $35.2 million from 4,542,480 admissions since its Aug. 5 rollout.
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day held second place in its third weekend with $5.6 million from 767,839 admissions (25.47% market share), pushing its cumulative South Korean total to $53.5 million from 7.2 million viewers.
- Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone retained third place with $906,294, bringing its cumulative to $4.2 million since its Aug. 5 launch.
- Ok! Madam: Bon Voyage, a local action-comedy sequel starring Uhm Jung-hwa, debuted in fourth place with $827,800 from 120,982 admissions.
- Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway took fifth with $831,509, while sci-fi thriller Hope (starring Hwang Jung-min and Michael Fassbender) added $280,866 to push its cumulative to $33.8 million.
- The overall South Korean market grossed $22.3 million for the weekend, nearly flat against the prior frame's $22.9 million.
Why it matters: The Odyssey's 28% sophomore-session jump in Korea is the headline anomaly — most tentpoles drop in their second frame — and signals that Nolan's film, already past $1.1 billion globally, is converting into long legs rather than a front-loaded spike in this market. Combined with its near-60% market share, the data positions Korea as one of the film's most concentrated international strongholds rather than a peripheral contributor.
