- Formula 1 will send all 22 drivers around Silverstone in drivable Lego minicars built from 28,000 real bricks in the two hours before Sunday's British Grand Prix start, with each car decked out in the driver's 2026 team colours
- The Lego minicars took over 6,400 combined hours to develop and construct, use standard go-kart wheels, and are capable of reaching speeds of up to 15mph
- Emily Prazer, Formula 1's chief commercial officer, said the event 'builds on' last year's Miami parade, which she called 'one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season'
- Sky Sports F1 will broadcast the drivers' parade as part of extended British GP build-up from 12.55pm, with Sunday's race live from 3pm on Sky Sports F1 and Sky One
- Silverstone expects to break its own British Grand Prix attendance record with an anticipated 565,000 fans across the July 3-5 race weekend
Why it matters: The parade signals Formula 1's continued push for family-friendly spectacle at its biggest weekend, pairing a record-crowd British GP with a novelty event explicitly designed for broadcast virality. By building on Miami 2025 rather than reverting to flatbed truck greetings, F1 positions Lego as a recurring fan-engagement partner while giving global Sky Sports viewers a shareable moment before the race itself.
