Source Selection

SkimNews monitors 100+ established news publications across 7 categories: geopolitics, technology, finance, health, energy, sports, and culture. Sources are selected for editorial credibility, factual track record, and topical relevance. Our source list includes BBC, Reuters, The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, TechCrunch, Ars Technica, CNBC, Nikkei Asia, and many others.

Summarization Process

Each article is processed through our summarization pipeline, which extracts key facts, identifies why the story matters, and preserves source attribution. Summaries are designed to convey the essential information in approximately 30 seconds of reading time.

Attribution & Linking

Every summary on SkimNews includes:

• The name of the original publication
• A direct link to the original article
• The publication date

We encourage readers to visit the original source for the full story.

Multi-Source Coverage

When multiple sources cover the same event, we cross-reference their reporting to provide a more complete picture. Where sources disagree or offer different perspectives, we note this in the summary.

What We Don't Do

• We don't publish original reporting or investigative journalism
• We don't add editorial opinion to summaries
• We don't alter quotes or misrepresent source material
• We don't accept payment for story placement or prioritization

Corrections

If a summary contains an error, we correct it promptly. Corrections can be reported via hello@skimnews.com or through our Telegram bot.

Publishing Cadence

Stories are updated continuously throughout the day as new articles are published by our sources. A daily email digest is sent each morning summarizing the most important stories from the previous 24 hours.
