- Tom Hanks will star in “This World of Tomorrow,” marking his return to Broadway for the first time in 14 years; he will also be joined by a theater veteran.
- “Lucky Guy”, Nora Ephron’s 2013 play, was Hanks’s last Broadway appearance before the announced return and earned him a Tony nomination.
Why it matters: The 2013 Tony nomination for “Lucky Guy” gives Hanks’s 14-year Broadway absence meaningful context: his last appearance earned that recognition. His return in “This World of Tomorrow” therefore brings back a Broadway performer with a documented, Tony-nominated credit onstage again.
