- Meta made AI look cute by giving it a "squishy little face," and is selling a Muse Charm this holiday season so people can carry a jolly AI helper around like a Tamagotchi.
- Muse Charm in the writer's home is their own build, made before Meta's version could ship, which is why they say they won't buy Meta's charm device this holiday season.
Why it matters: Meta is timing its cute wearable AI push to the holiday season, but it is not entering an empty market: the writer already has a home-built Muse Charm and is skipping the purchase. Zuckerberg's charm lands beside a DIY alternative, so Meta is selling the face, not a first-mover advantage.
