Action Xtreme Launches Security Division AXRA

- Action Xtreme, the UK film company co-founded by Chee Keong Cheung and Andreas Roald, is launching a dedicated security division called AX Risk and Advisory (AXRA)
- AXRA will offer close protection, event security, technical surveillance counter-measures, and crisis management to high-net-worth clients, global brands, and the film/TV/entertainment industry, operating out of Ealing Studios
- Ty Hopkins has been named Director of Security & Strategy, with Action Xtreme Head of Production Ioanna Karavela serving as COO; Cheung takes a Director role and will additionally oversee Industry Relations
- AXRA's model was already deployed during production of Netflix's African film "Son of the Soil," which shot entirely on location across "multiple challenging locations" in Nigeria
- Active plans are now underway for AXRA to support shoots in Mexico and Africa, with Cheung positioning the division as a bridge between "world-class security practices and the unique demands of the creative industries"
Why it matters: Action Xtreme is turning a production-side competency into a standalone business, monetizing security expertise built on its own film sets. By basing AXRA at Ealing Studios and pitching it to international productions in Nigeria, Mexico, and beyond, the company creates a new revenue line and fills a niche: most security firms lack film-industry fluency, and most production companies don't offer dedicated protective services as a product.
