- Quentin Tarantino and Kylie Minogue were spotted filming at Porthcawl's Saltwater Inn during a wake scene and at a church in nearby Newton for a funeral scene, per Nation.Cymru.
- Tarantino was also seen Friday at Cardiff's Parkgate Hotel having a drink with film crew, according to BBC Wales.
- Jamie Adams is directing the project — identified by Rolling Stone as Tangled Up in Blue — and previously cast Tarantino in a small role as "a wealthy benefactor" in his prior film Only What We Carry.
- Only What We Carry premiered June 6 at the Tribeca Film Festival and is described by Variety as "an improvisational drama shot in six days on the Normandy coast," starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Simon Pegg.
- Adams told Variety in February he recruited Tarantino by sending him the Only What We Carry script and persuading him over Zoom: "Once you hear his voice, you're transported. It's like Disneyland for film-makers."
Why it matters: Adams has now cast Tarantino in two consecutive projects, starting with the six-day improvisational *Only What We Carry* and following up with a Welsh-coast production that also drew Kylie Minogue. The back-to-back collaborations show Adams has built enough trust with Tarantino to keep landing A-list names for small-scale shoots — a notable pipeline for a director working outside the studio system.
