- Drew Mehringer was fired as Oregon's offensive coordinator less than one full season after his promotion to the post.
- Oregon is unranked after losing three games this season, having begun the year ranked second in the preseason AP poll.
Why it matters: Oregon now must operate without the coordinator it promoted less than one full season ago, after three losses left the team unranked from a preseason AP No. 2 start. Mehringer is the person directly affected, while Oregon's offensive leadership changes again.
