- Alexis Alexiou arrived at the Thessaloniki Intl. Film Festival with his third feature, “Sea of Glass,” following its out-of-competition premiere at Edinburgh.
- Sea of Glass will have a special screening in Thessaloniki before a limited theatrical release across Greece; its country gothic noir story follows two women who find solidarity across generations.
Why it matters: Alexiou’s third feature moves from an out-of-competition Edinburgh premiere to a special Thessaloniki screening, then a limited theatrical release across Greece. The concrete sequence gives the filmmaker festival exposure and Greek viewers theatrical access, while making the domestic run the next material step after the festival presentation.
