- BMW's iX4 was captured testing at the Nürburgring in new images from @Wilcoblok, showing the Neue Klasse design language including the four-eyed kidney grille and a slanted coupe-like roofline
- The 2027 iX4 will replace the current X4 and launch in two AWD trims — 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive — joining the iX3 SUV and i3 sedan in BMW's Neue Klasse EV lineup
- The iX4 shares the iX3's Gen6 eDrive powertrain, 800V architecture, and up to 400 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% recharge in roughly 21 minutes
- Expected range lands above 400 miles EPA (or 500+ miles WLTP) in the longest-range variant, using an approximately 112 kWh battery shared with the iX3
- The interior will mirror the iX3 with a 17.9" central touchscreen, a new steering wheel, and BMW's Panoramic Vision 3D Head-Up Display
- Pricing is expected to sit slightly above the iX3, which starts at $61,500 in the US and €73,925 in Europe; BMW will release official iX4 pricing closer to launch
Why it matters: The iX4 extends BMW's Neue Klasse platform into the coupe-SUV segment, giving buyers a sleeker body style without sacrificing the 400+ mile range and 400 kW charging that anchor the Gen6 architecture. Arriving as a 2027 model alongside the iX3, it shows BMW scaling a single electric platform across multiple body styles in quick succession.
