- Mikel Arteta signed his previous Arsenal contract in September 2024, at which point his stated quest to bring major silverware back to the club was still ongoing.
- Arteta signs a new Arsenal deal two years later after leading the club to a long-awaited Premier League title.
Why it matters: The extension rewards the manager who delivered Arsenal's first Premier League title in years, locking in continuity at the top after a silverware drought. It shifts Arteta's mandate from chasing a title to defending one.
