- "The Season" is a six-part English-language revenge drama co-produced by SK Global and PCCW Media, with creator Yalun Tu and cast unveiling a June 2026 global premiere date at Hong Kong FilMart on March 18.
- Jessie Mei Li leads the international ensemble as Cola, an "outsider looking in" with a "deep dark secret" who lives a double life infiltrating the Hext family, an old-money Hong Kong dynasty spanning horse-racing, yacht soirées, and charity galas.
- Toby Stephens and Karena Lam, a three-time Golden Horse Award winner, anchor the Hext family as Christopher and Fiona, while the cast adds Chris Pang, Celina Jade, Justin Chien, Yvonne Chapman, Kōki, and Lee Jae-yoon, with special appearances by Hong Kong stars Anson Lo of Mirror and Marf Yau of Collar.
- Distribution spans Viu across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa; Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S.; and Now TV in Hong Kong, with Fremantle leading international sales alongside De Maio Entertainment.
- Creator Yalun Tu, whose credits include "NCIS: Hawaii" and collaborations with Amazon Japan and HBO Asia, said Hong Kong's "so many juxtapositions — old, new, tradition, modernity" made it the ideal shoot location, and the entire series was filmed there.
- Marialy Rivas, the Chilean director, serves as lead director and executive producer, marking another cross-continental hire for SK Global, the company behind "Crazy Rich Asians," "Thai Cave Rescue," and "Delhi Crime."
Why it matters: SK Global adds a Hong Kong-set, English-language prestige drama to a portfolio that already spans "Crazy Rich Asians," "Delhi Crime," and "Thai Cave Rescue," giving Viu and Hulu a six-part series with an internationally blended cast across Asian, Middle Eastern, African, and U.S. markets starting June 2026.
