TIFF Debuts Inaugural Market with Irons, Palmer Projects

- Toronto International Film Festival is debuting its inaugural market, TIFF: The Market, running Sept. 10-16, featuring 40 film projects, 6 series, and 5 "innovation" projects to be pitched at the International Financing and Project Market.
- Jeremy Irons is attached to star in "Sher," directed by Deepa Mehta and produced by David Hamilton, Rajiv Maikhuri, and Craig Stovel.
- "Central Park Tale", an animated film directed by Daniel Jeanette and produced by Jacqui Barcos and John Fragomeni, has attached talent including Keke Palmer, Alan Cumming, Common, and Regina Hall.
- Marlee Matlin, Chase Crawford, Jacob Tremblay, and Booker Prize winner Marlon James are also attached to projects being pitched at the market.
- The IFPM is described as a "curated incubator" that brings together more than 50 established producers with financiers, distributors, sales agents, and executives, presented by Ontario Creates.
- Charles Tremblay, head of TIFF: The Market, said the projects and talent "reflect the emphasis we've placed on closing the loop between the ideas and the investments that fuel our global industry."
