- AFM is partnering with AMC A-List and the B-List Movie Club to give select films access to 5,000 LA-based moviegoers for audience-feedback screenings during the November market.
- AMC Century City 15 will host all AFM screenings Nov. 10-13, directly across the street from the Fairmont Century Plaza headquarters, with new screening formats adding hospitality, concessions, red-carpet moments, and talent photo ops.
- B-List Movie Club co-founders Brett Gaffney and Jenna Webster said the screenings will let filmmakers "see how a real audience responds to a film" and provide insight into "the direction of a future theatrical release."
- Carrie Trotter, AMC's SVP of marketing, said A-List members — "among the most passionate moviegoers in the industry" — will get "access to special screenings" and content "that isn't typically available to general audiences."
- Jackie Brenneman, president and CEO of the Independent Film and Television Alliance, said participation from across the global industry signals "a very strong AFM this November" and gives films a chance to "gain valuable audience response as they're introduced to the global marketplace."
- The 47th AFM runs Nov. 10-15 with more than 215 exhibiting companies confirmed, including Lionsgate, Neon, Gaumont, Pathé Films, StudioCanal, TrustNordisk, AGC Studios, and XYZ Films.
Why it matters: With 215+ exhibitors confirmed for the 47th AFM, the B-List Club's 5,000 LA members give indie sellers a readymade audience to capture 'valuable audience response' before films reach global buyers — and AMC's A-List adds another tier of frequent moviegoers to the screening pipeline.
