- Range signed Gary Lennon, the award-winning playwright, showrunner, writer, and director best known for his years inside Starz's Power universe.
- Lennon is currently showrunner and EP of Power: Legacy, the Power spinoff greenlit by Starz and executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, which is in pre-production.
- Power Book IV: Force, Lennon's most recent Starz showrunner credit, delivered a Season 3 premiere of 9 million multiplatform viewers — its third and final season pushed the broader Power franchise past 2 billion hours viewed globally.
- Under his overall Starz deal, Lennon co-ran crime drama Hightown and is developing an original pilot titled Los Feliz, an eight-episode crime drama set in the Los Angeles neighborhood, which he is writing solo.
- Lennon is also writing feature film California Bear — based on the New York Times bestselling novel — for 20th Century Studios and Ryan Coogler's Proximity Media.
- His prior credits include EP on HBO's three-season Euphoria, a writer stint on FX's Justified that earned a Peabody, WGA, and AFI Award, and writing on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, which brought an Emmy nomination and a Peabody.
- Lennon continues to be represented by CAA and Paul Hastings.
Why it matters: Range is attaching the creative force behind Starz's biggest recent franchise numbers — 9 million multiplatform viewers for the Power Book IV: Force finale season and 2 billion-plus cumulative hours — giving the management company leverage as Power: Legacy heads into production and Lennon's original Los Feliz pilot moves through Starz development.
