- Erling Haaland will voice "an animated version of himself" — a Viking — in the feature film Viqueens, marking his acting debut, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
- Director Harald Zwart, the Dutch-Norwegian filmmaker behind The Karate Kid and Agent Cody Banks, co-wrote Viqueens and called Haaland "a kind of real-life Viking icon" whose involvement brings "unexpected energy and authenticity."
- Viqueens follows two Viking girls who travel from Norway to China to return a stowaway, learning dragon kites, fireworks, and kung fu along the way, per the film's IMDB synopsis.
- Rita Ora and Yellowjackets' Ella Purnell are cast as leads Hedvig and Ingrid, while chat-show host Alan Carr plays "a lyrically challenged royal scribe."
- Haaland joined Manchester City in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund and leads the 2025-26 Premier League Golden Boot race with 26 goals.
- Viqueens is scheduled for release around Christmas.
Why it matters: Haaland — already one of the world's most marketable footballers with 26 Premier League goals this season — adds a family-film credit to his commercial portfolio, giving the animated feature a globally recognizable athlete as a marketing hook ahead of its Christmas release window.
