- Russian forces launched a missile attack on Kyiv; Reuters cited the mayor, while Al Jazeera reported that residents were injured.
- Ukraine was preparing for talks with Russia and the U.S. as ballistic missiles struck Kyiv and injured five residents.
Why it matters: For residents, the five reported injuries make the strike's immediate human cost concrete. The quieter detail is that Ukraine was preparing talks with Russia and the U.S., so the coverage places a reported attack on residents alongside an explicit diplomatic track.
