- William Oldroyd will write and direct a series based on Alice Feeney's upcoming book 'Twist,' reuniting with Fifth Season, Campout Productions, Freckle Films, and Tessa Thompson's Viva Maude.
- 'Twist' centers on a flight attendant living a double life with two husbands, told across dual POVs in a story of love, marriage, murder, and revenge.
- Feeney's novel 'Twist' will be published in the U.S. in February 2027 by Macmillan Publishers, with the series adaptation already in development ahead of release.
- 'His & Hers' became Netflix's most-watched show in the first half of this year, racking up 104M global views from its January launch through end of June, starring and executive-produced by Tessa Thompson opposite Jon Bernthal.
- Feeney has multiple other adaptations in motion: Carnival Films is developing 'My Husband's Wife,' while 'Beautiful Ugly' is in production as a film from the producers of 'The Housemaid,' and her debut 'Sometimes I Lie' was previously set up at Warner Bros. TV.
- Fifth Season's Noah Greenshner framed the project as a reunion, while Feeney said getting 'the band back together' for 'Twist' 'feels like a dream come true.'
Why it matters: The 104M-view success of 'His & Hers' is converting directly into pipeline: Fifth Season and its producing partners locked in the next adaptation before Feeney's book even publishes in February 2027. That speed signals to authors and agents that Fifth Season is willing to option and develop thriller IP pre-publication based on prior track record — a competitive edge in a crowded streaming-thriller market.
