- Disney+ is rolling out a curated Halloween collection in October 2026 featuring an assortment of movies, series, and specials timed to the spooky season.
- "Coven Academy" Season 1 premieres October 2, a supernatural dramedy set in New Orleans following a trio of teenage witches-in-training in what the streamer bills as a 'thrilling, witty blend of magic, mystery and teen drama.'
- "Dancing with the Stars" Season 35 streams live on Disney+ at 8 p.m. ET on Mondays (Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27) with companion podcast episodes throughout the month.
- NHL games stream live on multiple October nights, including Oct. 1 (Flyers vs. Devils; Blackhawks vs. Utah Mammoth), Oct. 8 (Sharks vs. Blues), Oct. 22 (Kings vs. Islanders; Utah Mammoth vs. Kraken), and Oct. 29 (Blackhawks vs. Red Wings; Sabres vs. Ducks).
- Halloween specials debut October 7 with 'Big City Greens' Season 5 Halloween episode, a 'Kiff' Halloween special, and a 'Phineas and Ferb' Halloween special premiere.
- "VisionQuest" and "Megastorm" Season 1 both premiere October 14 as new original series, while 'R.J. Decker' Season 2 adds new episodes the same day.
- "CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton" streams live October 21 at 9 p.m. ET, anchoring the month's music programming.
Why it matters: Disney+ is stacking October with seasonal Halloween hooks (a curated collection plus three dedicated Halloween-special premieres on Oct. 7) layered over live sports (NHL, College GameDay) and reliable franchise tentpoles ('Dancing with the Stars,' 'Phineas and Ferb') — giving subscribers roughly 30-plus fresh drops across the month, with 'Coven Academy' positioned as the standout scripted original for the teen supernatural-drama crowd.
