- Netflix renewed its 'A Different World' reboot for Season 2, confirming a sophomore season for the HBCU-set comedy.
- The series is a revival of the 1987-1993 NBC sitcom of the same name, following a new generation of students at Hillman College and centering on Deborah, played by Maleah Joi Moon, the youngest child of original characters Dwayne Wayne and Whitley.
Why it matters: The sophomore pickup extends Netflix's revival of the 1987-1993 NBC sitcom, anchored by a new lead (Maleah Joi Moon as Deborah) and built on the original's HBCU legacy, giving the streamer another season of a franchise with an established fan base.
