- Jason Statham reprises his role as retired "Beekeeper" Adam Clay in the sequel to his 2024 action pic, with the new film seeing him take on "his makers" — rogue government agents.
- Amazon MGM Studios released the first teaser for The Beekeeper 2 on Thursday, featuring Metallica's music as backdrop to the action footage.
- The Beekeeper 2 is directed by Timo Tjahjanto and is slated to premiere in theaters on January 15, 2027.
- The sequel expands the 2024 original's storyline, with Statham's Clay moving from avenging a single wrong to confronting the government operation that created him.
- The Beekeeper 2 marks Amazon MGM's continued investment in Statham-led action IP following the original film's theatrical run in early 2024.
Why it matters: The January 15, 2027 theatrical date and the hiring of Tjahjanto — known for kinetic action like The Raid — signal Amazon MGM's intent to build The Beekeeper into a sustained franchise rather than a one-off, locking Statham into a multi-film action vehicle for the studio.
