- OpenAI is launching a College Planner inside ChatGPT for Teens that consolidates application requirements, deadlines, tasks, and financial-aid steps for each school on a student's list into a single plan users can revisit and update.
- The College Planner will roll out first to US students in grades 10 through 12 planning for four-year colleges, with the feature arriving "soon" according to OpenAI.
- ChatGPT is adding continuous multi-photo upload that bundles uploaded photos into one PDF for iOS users, plus a flashcard generator that builds cards from a user's notes.
- Common Sense Media published a report labeling ChatGPT for Teens an "unacceptable risk," saying the AI "still does kids' homework" and does not send alerts to parents when it should.
- OpenAI countered in the same announcement that, on average, teens spend "under 15 minutes a day" using ChatGPT.
Why it matters: OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT deeper into teen education workflows the same week Common Sense Media called the existing teen product an "unacceptable risk" for doing homework without adequate parental alerts — so the College Planner ships directly into a credibility fight that OpenAI is already trying to pre-empt with its own under-15-minutes-a-day usage figure.
