- Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia could use Tuesday’s U.S. midterm elections to launch a massive attack against Ukraine.
- Russia was preparing a new massive attack, according to intelligence cited by Zelensky, primarily targeting Ukraine’s energy and logistics.
Why it matters: Ukraine’s energy and logistics systems are the specific targets identified in the preparations Zelensky described. Tuesday’s U.S. midterm elections supply the timing he said Russia might use, placing the political calendar directly alongside the reported attack plan and the basis for his warning.
