- Bijan Robinson signed a three-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons worth up to $75 million, including $51 million guaranteed, ending his weeklong hold-in at training camp
- Robinson will now earn $22.25 million per year, surpassing the Philadelphia Eagles' Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million annually) as the NFL's highest-paid running back
- The deal keeps Robinson under contract with Atlanta through 2030 and comes as Detroit Lions star Jahmyr Gibbs also holds in awaiting his own extension
- Robinson, 24, led the NFL in scrimmage yards last season (2,298) and ranked fourth in rushing yards (1,478), including a 93-yard touchdown — the longest rushing score in the league in 2025

- Robinson, drafted eighth overall in 2023, has totaled 3,910 rushing yards and 198 receptions through three seasons and will be a focal point under new head coach Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees
Why it matters: At $22.25 million annually, Robinson resets the running back market by roughly $1.6 million per year over the previous high-water mark set by Barkley, and with Gibbs holding in, the bar could climb again within weeks — a notable shift for a position whose compensation has lagged across the league.
