- HBO's "Rooster" added five guest stars for Season 2: Sutton Foster as Marti, Lamorne Morris as Caleb, Michael Urie as Larry, O-T Fagbenle as Hayes, and Zavior Phillips as Sam, though character details have not been disclosed.
- "Rooster" stars Steve Carell and Charly Clive as a father and daughter navigating a complicated relationship on a college campus, with the ensemble also featuring Danielle Deadwyler, Phil Dunster, John C. McGinley, Lauren Tsai, Annie Mumolo, Maximo Salas, and Rory Scovel.
- Connie Britton previously guest starred on the series as Elizabeth Stoddard, joining the newly announced Season 2 guest slate.
- Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses co-showrun the comedy, produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with Lawrence's Doozer Productions; both Doozer and Tarses hold overall deals at WBTV.
- Season 2 production is currently underway, with Steve Carell listed among the executive producers alongside Lawrence, Tarses, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Barbie Adler, Annie Mebane, and David Hyman.
Why it matters: The casting deepens HBO's sitcom relationship between Steve Carell and Charly Clive with five established comedy and drama actors, giving Bill Lawrence's college-campus comedy a broader ensemble pull just as Season 2 enters production under his and Matt Tarses' WBTV-backed Doozer deal.
