- E.l.f. Beauty reported second-quarter net sales of $520.8 million, up 51% from a year earlier and above the $470.3 million expected in an LSEG analyst survey, as retail and e-commerce gains across the U.S. and international markets extended its sales-growth streak to 31 consecutive quarters.
- E.l.f. Beauty generated adjusted EPS of $1.21, more than double the $0.60 expected, while net income rose to $30.03 million, or $0.50 per share, from roughly $3 million, or $0.05, a year earlier.
- E.l.f. Beauty raised full-year net-sales guidance to $2 billion-$2.03 billion from $1.94 billion-$1.97 billion and lifted adjusted EBITDA guidance to $421 million-$427 million from $401 million-$407 million.
- E.l.f. Beauty also increased its adjusted EPS forecast to $3.82-$3.86 from $3.50-$3.55 and its net-income forecast to $231 million-$233 million from $212 million-$215 million.
- E.l.f. Beauty grew international business 165% even though only 25% of its business is outside the U.S., CEO Tarang Amin said, describing the scope to build on that momentum as a “tremendous opportunity.”
- E.l.f. Beauty said gross margin increased 1.6%, including a 0.3% benefit from tariff refunds; the company expects roughly $55 million in annual refunds and cut prices by $1 on about 10% of units, which Amin tied to “great unit momentum.”
- E.l.f. Beauty said it was TikTok Shop’s most-searched brand and the platform’s No. 2 cosmetics brand, while also posting strong results for Rhode, the skincare brand it acquired last year.
Why it matters: Wall Street expected $470.3 million in revenue and $0.60 in adjusted EPS; E.l.f. delivered $520.8 million and $1.21, then lifted its sales ceiling by $60 million to $2.03 billion. Shareholders now have a materially higher profit forecast, supported by 165% international growth and tariff-funded $1 price cuts on about 10% of units.
