- CloudNC announced a $20 million B extension round on Wednesday, bringing its lifetime funding to $128 million; its last major raise was four years ago.
- CAM Assist plugs into traditional CAM systems such as Autodesk Fusion and Mastercam, selecting tools, approach directions, feeds, speeds, and the code required to run a CNC machine.
- CAM Assist is used by more than 1,000 machine shops worldwide, and 80% of CloudNC’s customer base is in the U.S. as the company focuses on scaling adoption with 80 employees.
- Quote Agent helps machine shops assess the estimated cost and risk of new projects, enabling them to accept or reject work faster; the product is scheduled to launch next month.
- Theo Saville said manufacturers need to quote and program faster while delivering more with their existing people and machines, linking the product push to reshoring and a shortage of skilled workers.
- Nimble Ventures led the round, which included Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Capital, Lockheed Martin’s venture arm.
Why it matters: Machine shops are the immediate beneficiaries: CAM Assist is used by more than 1,000 shops, while Quote Agent helps assess project cost and risk. CloudNC’s 80 employees will use the fresh $20 million to expand go-to-market operations, develop new products, and reach more manufacturers without replacing skilled programmers.
