- OKXICE notified the SEC of its intent to launch a tokenized securities venue (TSV) under the agency's new innovation exemption, with more than 60 US-listed companies slated for the platform.
- A public notice dated Oct. 4 lists 63 proposed stock symbols including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Tesla, alongside crypto-native firms Strategy, Coinbase, Circle, and Bitgo.
- OKX and Intercontinental Exchange formed the 50-50 joint venture in June to build infrastructure for tokenized financial products, with OKXICE co-chair Andrew Cuomo calling tokenized securities "part of what comes next."
- The platform plans to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer, with each tokenized stock paired with USDC, Global Dollar (USDG), or USDt (USDT).
- The SEC issued a temporary exemption in September allowing limited trading of tokenized US stocks on certain onchain venues through automated market makers and liquidity pools — the regulatory path OKXICE is now using.
Why it matters: The filing puts Intercontinental Exchange's exchange-grade credibility behind an SEC-supervised onchain venue for 63 blue-chip names, moving tokenized US equities from a regulatory gray zone to a formal channel. The 24/7 stablecoin-paired structure sidesteps traditional market hours and clearing, giving crypto-native trading platforms institutional competition on their own rails.
