- Manchester United came from two goals down to beat Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Champions League, ending a nine-game run without a win.
- Carrick remained in charge for the Roma fixture as increasing supporter scrutiny focused on United’s leadership, particularly director Wilcox, rather than the manager.
Why it matters: Manchester United’s 3-2 win did more than erase a two-goal deficit: it ended a nine-game run without victory. Carrick was still in charge for that result while supporter scrutiny was directed toward club leadership, especially director Wilcox, rather than toward the manager himself.
