- SCAD Savannah Film Festival will run its third annual TV Sidebar October 24-31 in Savannah, GA, spotlighting four TV programs with screenings followed by award presentations and conversations.
- Meghann Fahy receives the Spotlight in Television Award on October 24 for the Peacock limited series The Good Daughter, co-starring Rose Byrne and adapted from Karin Slaughter's bestselling novel; the series premieres November 12.
- Paul Bettany receives the Virtuoso Award on October 26 for Marvel Television's Disney+ series VisionQuest, which closes the trilogy that began with WandaVision (earning Bettany his Emmy nod) and ran through Agatha All Along.
- Emmy Rossum receives the Outstanding Achievement in Television Award on October 28 for Hulu's Furious, a thriller created by Elizabeth Meriwether in which Rossum plays FBI agent Alice Black hunting a serial killer played by Lola Petticrew.
- Ethan Hawke and Sterlin Harjo receive the Outstanding Collaboration in Television Award on October 30 for FX and Hulu's Tulsa-set noir The Lowdown, in which Hawke plays citizen journalist Lee Raybon.
- Deadline will host "Below the Line: Scoring for the Screen with the Alliance for Women Film Composers," a panel during the festival on the role of composers in film and television.
Why it matters: SCAD's TV Sidebar, now in its third year, functions as a launch platform for prestige TV, with screenings timed to release windows — The Good Daughter premieres on Peacock just 19 days after Fahy's October 24 tribute, while Bettany's Vision trilogy capstone, Rossum's Hulu thriller, and Hawke's FX/Hulu noir all get star-driven showcases ahead of their rollouts.
