Criterion to Release Full Kubrick Filmography in 4K

- Criterion Collection announced it will release all of Stanley Kubrick's films on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in a single box set due October 20, spanning 30 discs with remastered 5.1 surround sound.
- The box set includes all 13 of Kubrick's feature films plus three short films, plus hours of interviews, documentaries, behind-the-scenes materials, and rare photographs annotated by Kubrick himself.
- Pricing is listed at $599.99 on Criterion's site, with a preorder price of $479.96; it's also available on Amazon and currently 30% off at Barnes & Noble.
- Criterion had previously released Paths of Glory, Spartacus, and The Killing individually, but this is the first time A Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket receive the Criterion treatment.
- Other Criterion director box sets include collections for Wes Anderson, Agnes Varda, John Singleton, and Akira Kurosawa.
Why it matters: Kubrick completists and cinephiles now have a single-purchase path to every feature on 4K, but the $479.96 preorder price (rising to $599.99 at release) puts it firmly in collector territory. For Criterion, it closes a long-noted gap — the label had Kubrick titles, but never his full filmography under one roof.
