- MSG Networks and YES Network named DAZN the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home for their sports properties during the 2026-2027 NBA and NHL seasons, a move that appears set to end the Gotham Sports App joint venture the two networks launched in 2024.
- The deal grants subscribers in the networks' regional territories access to live Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Devils, Islanders and Sabres games, plus 24/7 feeds of MSG, MSG Sportsnet and YES, along with original programming.
- MSG and YES said current Gotham Sports App users will receive uninterrupted access during the migration, with exact timing and other migration details to be announced in the coming months.
- DAZN, best known in the U.S. for combat sports and soccer, also streams NFL Game Pass, NHL.TV, the NBA and NCAA college football and basketball outside the U.S.
- Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said the partnership "underscores our commitment to expanding our footprint in the United States."
- Regional sports networks face ongoing subscriber erosion driven by streaming, cord cutting, and shifting habits on mobile phones and short-form clips — the trend the deal is built around.
Why it matters: The deal hands DAZN — already strong internationally in NFL and NHL streaming — a marquee U.S. foothold anchored by seven iconic pro franchises across two leagues, while MSG and YES follow the broader pattern of regional sports networks consolidating their remaining pay-TV audience onto a streaming-native platform. Subscribers inside the regional territories get continuity, but the Gotham Sports App — launched just two years ago — is being folded in.
