- Netanyahu said he discussed with Trump the need to topple Iran's regime during a Sunday conversation, per comments published Monday.
- Netanyahu argued dismantling Iran's government is essential to stopping it from rebuilding its nuclear programme and its so-called 'Axis of Resistance.'
Why it matters: Netanyahu publicly framed regime change rather than nuclear containment as the goal, an escalation in rhetoric that — if Trump adopts it — would shift US Iran policy from preventing a bomb to dismantling the government entirely.
