- Deezer reports that approximately 75,000 AI-generated songs are uploaded to its platform every day, making up 44 percent of all daily uploads.
- Despite the flood of AI tracks, AI music accounts for only 1 to 3 percent of total streams on Deezer, which has removed AI-generated music from its recommendation algorithm.
- Deezer demonetizes AI-generated songs and no longer stores high-resolution versions of them, and says it is the "only" music streaming service tagging AI tracks.
- Since launching its AI detection tool in January 2025, Deezer says daily AI uploads have surged from 10,000 to 75,000.
- Deezer has begun licensing its AI song-detection tool to other companies, with current capability to identify music made with Udio and Suno.
- Other services are taking varied approaches: Spotify has announced new AI policies, Apple Music is asking artists and labels to label AI songs, Bandcamp has banned AI music outright, and Qobuz auto-detects and tags AI tracks.
Why it matters: The 44 percent upload share paired with just 1–3 percent of streams reveals AI music is a supply-side flood, not a demand-side shift—meaning Deezer's demonetization and de-recommendation strategy directly protects listener discovery from spam-scale output. By commercializing its detection tool, Deezer is also turning AI-identification into a B2B product, raising the bar for competing platforms to adopt tagging or become the default home for unvetted AI tracks.
