- Francis Galluppi will write a John Constantine movie for DC Studios, sources tell Deadline, in a newly confirmed development project.
- DC Studios is moving forward with a standalone John Constantine film, separate from its current theatrical releases, though the project remains in early development.
- John Constantine is the central character of the planned film, reviving the supernatural antihero for a new adaptation under DC’s banner.
- Clayface is currently in theaters with over $90M in worldwide box office, according to the source, providing context for DC’s ongoing film activity.
Why it matters: DC Studios is advancing a new supernatural franchise with a named writer attached, signaling investment in niche characters beyond its core superhero lineup. While Clayface’s box office performance may reflect audience appetite for darker themes, the Constantine project’s early status means no budget, cast, or release timeline has been set, limiting immediate industry impact.
