- BritBox revealed an official first look at a three-part Christmas special of "The Other Bennet Sister," which recently wrapped production in Wales.
- Dónal Finn and Ella Bruccoleri are confirmed to return as Tom and Mary Hayward, joined by Laurie Davidson as Mr. Ryder and newcomer Nerys Amber-Stocks as housemaid Lucy.
- Sarah Quintrell wrote all three special episodes based on storylines by Janice Hadlow, while series director Asim Abbasi returned to direct.
- The Other Bennet Sister became the UK's biggest drama across all platforms and streamers since May 2025, driving more than 40% of new BritBox subscribers in the U.S. and Canada to watch the series.
- The special will air exclusively on BritBox in the U.S. and Canada and on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, with no official release date yet — though it will arrive in time for the holiday season, though creators warn "don't expect a holiday storyline."
- Returning cast includes Ruth Jones as Mrs. Bennet, Tanya Reynolds as Caroline Bingley, Varada Sethu as Ann Baxter, Poppy Gilbert as Lizzie Darcy, Maddie Close as Jane Bingley, Grace Hogg-Robinson as Lydia Wickham, Molly Wright as Kitty Buncock, and Anna Fenton-Garvey as Charlotte Collins.
Why it matters: The original 10-episode series became the UK's biggest drama across all platforms since May 2025 and converted more than 40% of new BritBox subscribers to viewers — a Christmas special now gives the streamer a marquee holiday tentpole to retain those subscribers and prove period-drama adaptations remain a commercial engine for BBC and BritBox.
