- SportsLine released 2026-27 Fantasy basketball rankings, sleepers, breakouts and busts, backed by a model that simulates each NBA season 10,000 times and was built by the same team that powered projections for all three major Fantasy sites.
- Walker Kessler is flagged as a top sleeper (ADP 56) after signing a 4-year, $130 million contract with the Lakers, where he's expected to pair with Luka Doncic; he averaged 2.4 blocks per game (second among active players behind only Victor Wembanyama) and 12.2 rebounds in his last full season.
- Darius Acuff Jr. is the model's top breakout (ADP 48), a No. 7 overall pick who became the first freshman to win the Bob Cousy Award, averaging 23.5 points, 6.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds on 44% three-point shooting at Arkansas.
- Cooper Flagg is listed as a 2026-27 bust despite last year's Rookie of the Year run (21 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists per game), with the model citing his need to adjust to playing alongside Kyrie Irving and new Mavericks head coach Dusty May.
- The model last year correctly called Kevin Porter Jr. as a sleeper (he finished 16th among guards in Fantasy points per game after an ADP of 70), flagged Jordan Poole as a bust, and predicted the ROY seasons of Paolo Banchero and Victor Wembanyama.
- Offseason movement reshaping draft boards includes LeBron James and Jaylen Brown landing in Philadelphia, Kawhi Leonard returning to Toronto, Giannis Antetokounmpo heading to Miami, and Kyrie Irving, Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard all returning from lost seasons.
- CBS Sports ADP data has Nikola Jokic at No. 1 (1.03), followed by Luka Doncic (2.79), Victor Wembanyama (3.03), Giannis Antetokounmpo (3.97) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (4.43), with Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards and Jalen Johnson rounding out the top nine.
Why it matters: Fantasy drafters have three days to digest an unusually chaotic offseason — multiple superstars changed teams and three starters are returning from year-long absences — and SportsLine is selling its rankings on a track record that included correctly calling Porter's breakout, Poole's collapse and two ROY winners. The biggest call against consensus is Flagg at ADP 10 going against a top-three ROY finish; if the model is right, first-round drafters lose a star-level season.
