- "Actors on Actors" received two Daytime Emmy nominations in the outstanding arts and popular culture program category, covering its spring 2025 TV-season edition on PBS SoCal and its fall 2025 film-season edition on CNN's streaming platform.
- The nods mark the series' fourth consecutive year nominated in the category (also 2023, 2024, and 2025) and bring its total Daytime Emmy nominations to six, with a previous win in 2019 in the outstanding special class series category.
- Season 23 (fall 2025) represented the first edition produced under a formal CNN-Variety collaboration, with new episodes debuting exclusively for CNN streaming subscribers before premiering across Variety's digital platforms.
- Season 23's pairings included Ariana Grande ("Wicked: For Good") with Adam Sandler ("Jay Kelly"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Die My Love") with Leonardo DiCaprio ("One Battle After Another"), and Jonathan Bailey with David Corenswet ("Superman"), among others.
- The series will compete against "Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood," an "Entertainment Tonight" special from CBS Media Ventures, "Off Script With the Hollywood Reporter" (produced with IFC), and "Working in Theatre" from AmericanTheatreWing.org.
- The 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30, in Los Angeles.
Why it matters: The dual nominations cap a run of four consecutive years recognized in the category for Variety's flagship video franchise, which first premiered in 2014. With the fall edition marking the show's debut on CNN's streaming platform, the recognition comes at a moment of meaningful distribution expansion beyond Variety's own digital channels and traditional PBS SoCal home.
