- Get Rid of It is Ry Russo-Young’s next feature as director, written by Gemma Holdway and produced by Oscar-nominated producer David Lancaster.
- Daisy Ridley has been cast as Harper, alongside Sosie Bacon as Jessie and Simon Rex as Miller.
- Get Rid of It is expected to begin filming at the start of 2027.
- Harper discovers she is pregnant after a one-night stand with Miller, then takes a cross-country trip with Jessie in which the thing growing inside her may not be human.
- CAA Media Finance is leading sales with Range Select and will present Get Rid of It to buyers at the upcoming fall market.
- Ry Russo-Young called the project “propulsive and playful,” saying its strength is its compelling point of view and “heart beneath the horror.”
Why it matters: CAA Media Finance and Range Select have a concrete commercial checkpoint at the fall market, when they will present the project to buyers ahead of the early-2027 filming start. The package gives those sales teams three named cast members plus a director, writer and producer, and gives buyers a specific production timeline to evaluate.
