- Inde Navarrette attended the Newport Beach Film Festival as one of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch, celebrated at the festival's Honor Brunch after going to the Academy Museum Gala the night before.

- Navarrette is set to host "Saturday Night Live's" Halloween episode with musical guest Gracie Abrams, joking she feels like she "snuck in" and wants to keep the episode under wraps.
- Navarrette has been cast as Rogue in the MCU's forthcoming "X-Men" film.
- Navarrette said she hasn't corresponded directly with Anna Paquin, who originated the role of Rogue, but feels the connection "started when I was younger" through her childhood love of the X-Men movies.
- Navarrette described stunt training for the superhero film as "a really good excuse to get in the gym," adding, "I'm the laziest person, and I am very excited to get up and move my body."
Why it matters: Inde Navarrette earned a Variety Actors to Watch honor while revealing she's hosting SNL's Halloween episode with Gracie Abrams and playing Rogue in the MCU's X-Men film — all in one weekend. Stepping into a role originated by Anna Paquin means she'll be measured against an established screen portrayal before her film 'Obsession' rolls out.
