- Cwmbran Celtic AFC partnered with Super Furry Animals, Panic Shack, Mogwai, and Loose Articles to feature the bands on men's and women's first-team home and away shirts for the 2026/27 season.
- The club said 10% of shirt profits will go to Music Venue Trust, a UK charity established in 2014 to protect grassroots music venues.
- Super Furry Animals previously appeared on a Cardiff City shirt in 1999; front man Gruff Rhys said the band's giant inflatable bears have been "patched up" in Cwmbran over the past thirty years and "were very keen to repay the favour."
- Joint commercial managers Matt Jarrett and Connor Cupples conceived the partnership in the away bar at Carmarthen Town AFC, drawing on their prior experience putting on gigs together.
- Mogwai appear on the green-and-white men's away shirt — the Glasgow post-rock band are Celtic fans — while Manchester punk band Loose Articles were the first to sign on because their drummer's mum lives in Cwmbran.
- Most profits fund the club's six senior sides, veterans, walking football, and full junior set-up, with Cupples arguing grassroots football and grassroots music venues "are fighting the same fight" for survival on tight budgets.
Why it matters: The kit deal routes 10% of profits to Music Venue Trust while the rest funds Cwmbran's six senior teams and full junior section, concretely linking two cash-strapped grassroots ecosystems — amateur football and small live-music venues — that the club's managers say "are fighting the same fight" for survival on passion and tight budgets.
