- LSU under new coach Lane Kiffin assembled the No. 1-ranked 2026 transfer class (per 247Sports), importing QB Sam Leavitt from Arizona State, OT Jordan Seaton from Colorado, and defensive stars to create "the nation's most complete roster overnight"
- Oklahoma State signed 55 transfers under new coach Eric Morris — the most of any Power Four program — including QB Drew Mestemaker, RB Caleb Hawkins, and WR Wyatt Young, all from Morris's former North Texas team that won 11 games last season
- Penn State hired Matt Campbell and landed the No. 4 transfer class, heavily populated by Iowa State players including QB Rocco Becht; the Nittany Lions are the only Big Ten team to avoid Ohio State, Oregon, and Indiana on their schedule
- Louisville added 34 transfers including QB Lincoln Kienholtz from Ohio State, positioning the Cardinals alongside SMU as ACC challengers to Miami for the league title
- Auburn begins the Alex Golesh era with USF transfers headlining the class — QB Byrum Brown and WRs Chas Nimrod and Jeremiah Koger — with tailback Jeremiah Cobb as the Tigers' only returning offensive starter
- Ole Miss under new coach Pete Golding focused its No. 2-ranked transfer class on defense, adding experienced playmakers across the front seven and secondary to complement QB Trinidad Chambliss and RB Kewan Lacy on offense
- To qualify for the roundup, teams needed at least 20 portal additions and roughly a dozen transfer starters expected in the post-spring two-deep
Why it matters: The transfer portal has compressed rebuilding timelines into a single offseason — LSU went "all-in" with "essentially unlimited resources" to import proven stars at positions that previously held the Tigers back. With the expanded 12-team playoff offering more room for talented rosters to figure things out, programs willing to spend aggressively in free agency can leapfrog traditional recruiting powers without waiting for a recruiting class to develop.
